Please start the online application through [Apply]. All required documents should be uploaded through the online application. It is not necessary to send documents by post.
The required documents are a high school transcript (transfer students must submit college transcripts), personal statement, letter of recommendation, and English proficiency test scores (if not provided, students may apply for Provisional Admission).
You may apply for Provisional Admission, which requires an academic transcript, personal statement, and letter of recommendation. Provisional Admission students will take the Intensive English Course (IEC) before matriculation.
Recommendation letters must be processed through the online application with full name and email address of the reference. Recommendation letter forms will be automatically sent to references. Both Korean and English recommendation letters are accepted. Applicants wishing to submit more than one recommendation letter should have the letter sent directly to the admissions email (admission@sunykorea.ac.kr) by the reference.
Stony Brook University evaluates every application; the process takes approximately 4-6 weeks. Final results will be emailed to applicants individually.
Required forms are available from the online registration page. First, create an account on the Instruction tab to obtain access to our online registration form. The information on your registration form can be saved without submitting the application.
You may apply through the GED program. However, high school transcripts or SAT/ACT scores are strongly recommended to submit for your academic evaluation.
All students must study at the New York Campus for one year after fulfilling its requirements including GPA and successful completion of required courses at SUNY Korea. For more details, please contact academicaffairs@sunykorea.ac.kr.
In addition to required documents, applicants may submit items such as certificates, volunteer work history, and portfolios, which can be uploaded on the Supplementary tab in the online application.
Students may re-apply, even for the same semester. Improved grade reports or additional documents (optional academic documents) should be submitted with re-application.
Scholarship and Financial Aid applications are included in the online application form. A Self-Regulated statement for the applications is required. The SUNY Korea Scholarship Committee will review the application based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, honors/awards, and essays.
Since scholarship review is conducted only for admitted students, you will receive your scholarship result letter within 2 weeks after receiving your acceptance letter.
